Admire the breathtaking red-and-white arches of the Mezquita in Córdoba, explore vibrant Valencia, wander through Toledo’s narrow medieval streets, experience the world-famous museums of Madrid, and be inspired by Gaudí’s Barcelona, home to the iconic Sagrada Familia.

Full itinerary

Monday, October 9
Arrival in Seville by airplane. Afternoon relax and rest to recover. Group welcome dinner. Stay in Seville for 3 nights.

Tuesday, October 10 
Take a grand tour of Seville. Visit the Alcázar of Seville - the Moorish royal palace with fountain- filled gardens, ornate arches and 16th century tiles. Also, go into Seville’s grand cathedral and tour its historic bullring. Soak up the atmosphere of the city during the evening paseo.

Wednesday, October 11 
In the morning, drive to Córdoba. Visit the Great Mosque–Cathedral and see the famous red-and-white arches of the Mezquita. Walk through the cobblestone streets of the Jewish Quarter (Judería). Return to Seville in the afternoon.

Thursday, October 12 
Drive to Ronda and settle into the rural white washed village town. Soak up the ambience. Visit Spain’s very first bullring. Stay in Ronda for two nights.

Friday, October 13
Explore the pueblos blancos around Ronda plus a visit to Setenil de las Bodegas and Grazalema Natural Park.

Saturday, October 14
Depart for Granada by van. In the afternoon, take an orientation walk through the beautiful city center, visiting the Royal Chapel of Isabel and Ferdinand and other historic sights. Stay in Granada for two nights.

Sunday, October 15
Visit the Alhambra of Granada in the morning, then afternoon free to relax and unwind in Granada.

Monday, October 16
Drive to Toledo to visit one of Spain’s most historic towns. On the way we stop in Consuegra to see the famous windmills of the Spanish plains. In the evening, we arrive at our hotel in Madrid. Stay in Madrid for 3 nights. 

Tuesday, October 17
Enjoy a grand tour of Madrid, starting at Plaza Mayor and continuing to Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace,. Optional afternoon visit to the Reina Sofía Museum to see Picasso’s famous masterpiece Guernica.

Wednesday, October 18
Today is our museum day. Visit the Prado and its numerous masterpieces in the morning, and optionally, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum after lunch. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing walk through the beautiful El Retiro Park to see the Ponce de Leon statue.

Tursday, October 19
Depart for Barcelona in the morning by train. Afternoon relaxing orientation walk around central Barcelona. Stay in Barcelona for 3 nights.

Friday, October 20
Visit Sagrada Familia in the morning. After lunch, explore the old parts of the city: the Barri Gotic and El Born.

Saturday, October 21
Go to Parc Guell. Afternoon free time to do what you desire. Group farewell dinner at a deaf-owned restaurant.

Sunday, October 22
Transfer to Barcelona airport for your flight back home.

Matt, born in the former GDR (German Democratic Republic) and a seasoned traveler, Matt finds his heart drawn to Japan and the Brittany region of France, which he considers his “heartland.” Now based in Paris, he shares his life with his French partner, Alexandre, who is proudly from Brittany. Important Information to Know

  • Tour begins in Seville, Spain and ends in Barcelona, Spain

  • Tour will be confirmed when we meet the minimum number of participants.

  • When the tour is confirmed, additional deposits/payments may be required.

  • Significant walking expected during the tour.  Moderate physical fitness is required. All participants will be expected to be able to carry their own luggage.

  • Hands on Travel recommends that you purchase a travel insurance plan to help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected.
