Thursday, October 8
Arrival in Lisbon today. Day to rest and recover from jet lag. Group welcome dinner. Stay in Lisbon for 4 nights.
Friday, October 9
Explore central Lisbon today including the Castelo de Sao Jorge, Alfama District, and Praca do Comercio.
Saturday, October 10
Take an excursion to the fairytale village of Sintra, once a favored royal summer retreat and a UNESCO world heritage site. Visit the Pena Palace, National Palace, and much more.
Sunday, October 11
Go to Belem to visit the Tower of Belem, Discoveries Monument, Jeronimos Monastery and the 25 April Bridge.
Monday, October 12
Drive to Seville via Evora, where we visit the medieval, walled city, the macabre Chapel of Bones, and the Roman temple of Diana. Continue on to Seville and settle into our hotel. Stay in Seville for 3 nights.
Tuesday, October 13
Take a grand tour of Seville. Visit the Alcázar of Seville - the Moorish royal palace with fountain- filled gardens, ornate arches and 16th century tiles. Also, go into Seville’s grand cathedral and tour its historic bullring. Soak up the atmosphere of the city during the evening paseo.
Wednesday, October 14
Depart for Cordoba in the morning by van. Visit the Great Cathedral and Mosque, plus the beautiful candy-striped La Mezquita and the cobblestoned streets of Juderia. Return to Seville in the afternoon.
Thursday, October 15
Depart for Granada. Afternoon orientation walk around Granada including the Royal Chapel of Isabel and Ferdinand and many other sights in the beautiful city center. Stay two nights in Granada.
Friday, October 16
Visit the famed Alhambra, built as a "Paradise on Earth" by the Moorish caliphs who ruled in the 13th century. Enjoy a stroll through the Generalife and get lost in the Albayzin to discover Moorish gems.
Saturday, October 17
Drive to Toledo, stopping by Consuegra to visit the windmills of the Spanish plain. Visit the Cathedral of Toledo and view the skyline from afar. Continue on to Madrid. Stay in Madrid for 3 nights.
Sunday, October 18
Grand tour of Madrid starting at Plaza Mayor, then onwards to the Palacio Real. Afternoon free time in Madrid.
Monday, October 19
Today is our art museum day! Visit the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, two famous and well- known art museums located close to each other. Alternatively, free day in Madrid to rest and recharge.
Tuesday, October 20
Depart for Barcelona in the morning by train. Afternoon relaxing orientation walk around central Barcelona. Stay in Barcelona for 3 nights.
Wednesday, October 21
Visit Sagrada Familia in the morning. After lunch, explore the old parts of the city: the Barri Gotic and El Born.
Thursday, October 22
Go to Parc Guell. Afternoon free time to do what you desire. Group farewell dinner at a deaf-owned restaurant.
Friday, October 23
Transfer to Barcelona airport for your flight back home.

Matt, born in the former GDR (German Democratic Republic) and a seasoned traveler, Matthias finds his heart drawn to Japan and the Brittany region of France, which he considers his “heartland.” Now based in Paris, he shares his life with his French partner, Alexandre, who is proudly from Brittany. Known for his warm and radiant smile, Matthias loves meeting people from all walks of life. His motto: “Just smile and be happy!”
Martin, currently pursuing his doctoral degree in linguistics at Gallaudet University. He lived in Japan for 9 years as a JSL-ASL interpreter and English/ASL instructor, and he still visits Japan often with his wonderful wife, Chikako. He also enjoys traveling around the world, learning local history, and meeting Deaf people from all around the world.
