Take a journey through FOUR overlooked yet beautiful countries, each fascinating in its own right. Start with the natural beauty of the Lake Bled district in Slovenia, followed by Ljubljana and Zagreb, the Plitvice Lakes National Park, Split and the Croatian islands, Mostar and Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, and ending in the beautiful walled city of Dubrovnik.
Friday, September 3
Arrive in Ljubljana. Transfer to our hotel near Ljubljana Airport. Day to rest and recover. Have a group welcome dinner. Stay near Ljubljana for 2 nights.
Saturday, September 4
Explore the Lake Bled area all day long. Walk around Lake Bled, take a pletna boat ride, and also go up to Bled Castle. Possible trip to the Soteska Vintgar gorge.
Sunday, September 5
Depart for Ljubljana, where we tour the old city and wander its cobbled streets. Visit the Riverside Market area and the National and University Library. In the afternoon, drive to Zagreb. Sleep in Zagreb for 1 night.
Monday, September 6
Spend the morning touring Zagreb with a local Deaf guide. Visit landmarks and learn more about the history of Croatia and its part in the Yugoslavian war. In the afternoon, we will drive to a small town near our next day’s adventure. Visit the cute town of Rostoke. Stay overnight in Slunj.
Tuesday, September 7
Get up bright and early to visit the Plitvice Lakes National Park, a world-famous attraction well known for its stunning scenery and countless waterfalls. We will take a long hike through the park. Afterwards we continue on to Split. Sleep in Split for 2 nights.
Wednesday, September 8
Visit Diocletian’s Palace in central Split. Afterwards, optionally go to Trogir to enjoy the beautiful old town center.
Thursday, September 9
Depart for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Stop by the Kravica Waterfalls and the Catholic pilgrimage site of Medugorje. Drive on to Mostar. Stay in Mostar for three nights.
Friday, September 10
Morning tour of Mostar with a local deaf Bosnian. In the afternoon go to visit the Whirling Dervish house at Blagaj.
Saturday, September 11
Take a long day trip to Sarajevo to visit the highlights of the city with a local deaf guide. Return to Mostar in the evening.
Sunday, September 12
Depart for Montenegro. Upon our arrival in Kotor Bay, we stop for a panoramic photo opportunity. We then continue on to the old town of Kotor. Stay in Kotor for two nights.
Monday, September 13
We get on a full-day private Kotor Bay Cruise, which will touch on the highlights of the UNESCO- recognized Bay of Kotor. We visit the Blue Cave, the old towns of Kotor and Perast, the "Our Lady of the Rocks” island, and much more.
Tuesday, September 14
Depart Montenegro towards Dubrovnik. Stop by a traditional farm for lunch, then go up the mountain for an eagle’s eye view over Dubrovnik. Sleep in Dubrovnik for two nights.
Wednesday, September 15
Our last day of this trip will be a relaxing day in Dubrovnik. We can take the ferry to nearby Lokrum Island, or simply lounge in the old town. Group farewell dinner in the evening.
Thursday, September 16
We transfer to the Dubrovnik airport for your departure flights.

Abdulah was born in the small town of Prijedor and later moved with his family to Sarajevo, where he still lives today. He attended and graduated from a school for the Deaf in Sarajevo and has since been an active member of the Deaf community.
Abdulah has long been involved in theatre, sports, the Deaf association, and various Deaf cultural events. He has a strong passion for reading, learning about new places, and spending time outdoors, especially hiking to mountain summits. In his free time, he also enjoys biking, running, and traveling. Japan is one of his favorite destinations, which he finds both beautiful and inspiring.
His love for meeting Deaf people from different backgrounds has broadened his perspective and deepened his understanding of the world. What began as a simple request to help others as a tour guide soon grew into a meaningful role. Through hands-on experience, Abdulah developed his skills and confidence as a guide.
Today, he is excited to welcome new travelers, share his experiences, and connect with people from around the world.
Dan has been to 92 countries including Bolivia, Cuba, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, North Korea and Uzbekistan. He has also presented at Deaf Youth Leadership Camps in Germany and Thailand as well as team-coordinating an exchange program between two deaf schools in Kentucky, USA and Kamensk, Russia.
